Specialist Support Services

Established in 2014 to provide care for those who require complex packages of care. Typically, individuals referred to Time To Care will present with Mental Health needs, Learning Disability, Autism, or other disabilities.

Service Improvement Update

Time to Care has made significant progress over the past six months as part of our ongoing service improvement journey.

Following the recent CQC report, we accepted the findings in full and immediately began a focused improvement plan. Since then, we have worked closely with Northumberland County Council’s Safeguarding and Commissioning Teams and the CQC to strengthen our systems, improve accountability and ensure that the people we support remain at the centre of everything we do.

We are pleased to share that, at the end of July 2026, Northumberland County Council confirmed Time to Care would be removed from safeguarding oversight and reinstated on the provider register. This reflects renewed confidence in our ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care.

We are proud of the improvements made and grateful to our colleagues, partners, the people we support and their families for their continued involvement and trust. We remain committed to listening, learning, and delivering high-quality care for our community, now and in the future.

Our philosophy is very simple

We aim to provide an individualised package of care for each service user, which will allow them to exist within the least restrictive environment possible.

‘All service users have their own front door’

Our ethos gives them privacy and freedom of choice along with the appropriate level of care.

We have a highly trained staff team

This consists of Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Service Managers, a Quality & Compliance Officer, Clinical Nurse Advisor and a Registered Manager, which allows us to mould each package of care to meet the specific needs of that individual.

We operate a flexible service

Responding swiftly to changing circumstances, varying our levels of input and support according to assessed needs and progression. This makes us person-centred and user focused.

Single Person Supported Living

These services are truly based around the needs of the individual and give the service user the maximum amount of choice.

ISL Developments

Time To Care operates Independent Supported Living developments across the North East of England.

Active Support

At Time To Care we are committed to the Active Support model, which is applied to all our services and service users.

We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our service users

We aim to assist people in developing a structured approach towards their lives. This is achieved by the service user, very often, living and working alongside care staff, carrying out day to day domestic duties, being encouraged to take part in appropriate activities, being involved in decision making processes as far as possible and being empowered and supported to live as independently as possible.
