Our Services

At Time To Care we are dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people in society using our experience and expertise to help them towards reaching their goals and achieving as much independence as possible.

All our services are person centred and led by the service user. We are dedicated to giving people choice in the way in which they live their lives, the home they live in, the place they live in and the way in which their care is delivered.

We provide person centred support that focuses on outcomes for individuals whatever their level of need.

We work closely with colleagues in the NHS and Local Authorities to support the Transforming Care Programme and bring people out of hospital into their own home in the community as well as offering an enablement programme for those who do not require care 24 hours a day.

Single Person Supported Living

These services are truly based around the needs of the individual and give the service user the maximum amount of choice.

Typically, upon receipt of a referral we will work with our property partners to source a property which is right for that client. This will reflect the wants and needs of the individual but will also reflect the wider considerations of their MDT and taking into account environmental specifications so that necessary adaptations can be made.

Once the property is decided upon we then work with the client to select a dedicated staff team who will meet their needs in terms of age, gender, experience etc. All staff will be fully trained through our organisational training programme and in addition will be given any specific training required to meet the needs of that service user.

This model allows us to place clients in sustainable services which will see them settled into their own home for as long as they wish to be there, giving them the stability and continuity they may have lacked in the past.

This allows us to accommodate a range of needs as each team is built and trained with that one service user in mind.

This is a tried and tested model which has led to some real successes with clients who have been stuck in hospital for long periods of time, where their behaviours can be exacerbated by a triggering environment.

ISL Schemes

Time To Care operates Independent Supported Living Schemes across the North East of England.

Typically they will be eight to twelve flats on one site where clients need the support and structure of this environment but can work towards greater levels of independence and over time move on to their own tenancy.

These services are staffed by two core staff 24 hours a day, who offer on site support to clients with a range of needs which include Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism and physical disability. In addition each client will have a number of 1:1 hours which are met by additional staff over and above the core team, giving clients the opportunity to be supported to engage in their local community, do voluntary work, improve daily living skills, attend college etc, etc.

Our philosophy is that ‘everyone has their own front door’ allowing us to combine a range of presentations on one site as staff are trained to meet the needs of all clients in their care, and to specialise in specific needs.

Respite and Relief

In early 2025 TTC will launch a new Respite and Relief service across the North of England where we will be able to accept clients for a short period of time to either alleviate a crisis or give families or carers some much needed respite.

Full details to follow in the very near future, but please do get in touch with any queries in the meantime.

Active Support

At Time To Care we are committed to the Active Support model, which is applied to all our services and service users, and with which we have had some tangible successes with service users who may have struggled to achieve even the smallest outcomes in the past.

Active support is a truly person centred model of care which supports everything we stand for, in giving our clients as much control over their own lives as possible and enabling them to reach their own potential.

It can support them to engage appropriate activities that make up an ‘ordinary life’. Active Support provides people with support that corresponds with their abilities and is applicable in all settings.

Active support is a way of supporting someone that is person-centred. It provides structures and routines that increase opportunities for people with learning disabilities to engage in age-appropriate activities that make up an ‘ordinary life’. Active Support provides people with support that corresponds with their abilities. It is applicable to all support settings, not just for people with learning disabilities.

  • Central to Active Support is the notion of ‘ordinary living’ and the right to a lifestyle valued by society in general and these have been identified as:
  • Being part of a community
  • Having a network or relationships involving family and friends having continuity in relationships
  • Having opportunities to develop, have different experiences and develop competencies
  • Having choices and control over life
  • Being given status and respect and
  • Being treated as an individual.

Active Support changes the mind set of support. Staff begin to see everything in life as an activity or an opportunity for a person to take part. They begin to look at activities as having steps and each step is as important as the other. Just being able to do one step is an achievement
