Sycamore House is an independent supported living service in Ashington, Northumberland, managed by Time to Care Specialist Support Services. The apartments include clean, contemporary living spaces with practical fixtures and finishes. The kitchen pictured features sleek grey units, white tiled splashbacks, integrated oven space, a stainless-steel extractor, wood-effect flooring, sink area and room for essential appliances.

The bathroom pictured is bright and functional, with white sanitary ware, wall-mounted storage, a window for natural light, a chrome towel radiator and a shower enclosure, creating a practical daily living space.

Who the Service Supports

Sycamore House can consider referrals for people with a range of presentations, including learning disabilities, mental ill health, neurodiversity and physical disabilities. Each referral is assessed and reviewed by the referral panel to confirm whether the service can safely and effectively meet the person’s needs.
The staff team brings a broad range of skills and experience, enabling support to be adapted around each individual. Staff are trained across relevant disciplines, and where a person has a specific support requirement, their care team can receive additional training to meet that need appropriately.

 

Community and Independence

Located in the centre of Ashington, Sycamore House gives people the opportunity to be part of the local community, access nearby amenities and take part in activities, social events, volunteering or paid work where appropriate.

Support on Site

There are always two core staff on site to provide practical and emotional support. In addition, each person has an agreed number of one-to-one support hours with dedicated care workers, helping them work towards their own goals and develop confidence in everyday living.

Support can include help with medication, meal planning, appointments, household routines, activities and community access. Additional staff can support people off site so they can participate in local opportunities, wider community events and activities arranged by the Time to Care Activities Co-ordinator.
